Hi Andy,
Thanks for doing a wonderful job as official scribe for Sikit2Untong.I enjoy reading your regular postings on the group's activities often laced with a good dose of humour and subtle innuendos.Since this is the first anniversary of the group perhaps a little background on the origins of the group may be of interest.
The group began with Andrew Boudville,Steve Tan and Willie Wan Idris in 1990.I joined the group to make it a foursome in Jun 1992.There were two main reasons why we played golf regularly.Firstly it was to keep fit by regular exercise and if we happened to achieve a good golf score that was a bonus. In this way we always felt happy in the knowledge that we had exercised ourselves even though we may have played badly. The second reason was because it provided the group an opportunity for social intercourse to keep abreast of news on the Armed Forces and to exchange news of present and past comrades. It was also an opportunity to reminisce the many happy and sometimes not so happy moments of life in the Service. We had much in common as each one of us had served not less than 34 years in the Army.
When we first started we played a round of 18 holes twice a week on tuesdays and fridays. As age caught up with us we reduced it to a round of 9 holes twice a week without fail.
In 2002 Andrew had health problems and became less regular in his attendance. He was replaced by Col(rtd)Dr Geof Yeo and we continued playing at least once but often twice a week.In 2004 Geof Yeo passed away;Kelvin Kong joined us to make the weekly foursome. We kept this weekly schedule come rain or shine for almost 17 years. In 2007 with the inclusion of 6 new members the group named itself Sikit2Untong.
With advancing age and for health and family reasons we have to accept that some of the older members will become less regular in their attendance and will eventually leave the group. As long as we maintain the original aims of the group ie to promote physical well being and to serve as an avenue for social intercourse there should be no problem of other members wanting to join the group. In this connection I informed Kelvin almost two months ago that I am leaving the group because health reasons and do not wish to be included in the group activities either away from Kl or overseas.Being a member of KGAT I will continue to play golf on tuesdays when ever possible.
I wish Sikit2Untong many more happy anniversaries.

Hi Jerry, thank you so much for your up-dating on the Sikit2 Untong-much appreciated. We certainly enjoyed your warm company and very much looking forward of getting together continuing burning the KGAT fairways. One thing for sure of which I will treasure most and proud to be in common with you of having the previlege of attending through the same tough and well known military institution - Command & Staff College, Quetta, Pakistan - ZINDABAR.
We in Sikit2 Untong pray for your continue support and be in the best of health - God Bless.
Sincerely,
Andy
