THE BEAUTY - CITY OF BANDUNG

This 4th largest city of Indonesia located in Java Barat, well laid on the central highlands was literally built by the Dutch. All over the city of Bandung you tend to see beautiful well maintained historical buildings surrounded by big aging trees. In comparing to our Genting, Malaysia, the weather is undoubtedly cool but slightly warmer, nonetheless pretty nice especially for golfing and lovely evening outings.

THE SHOPPING KING BUYING ANYTHING EVEN THAT MOVES...

Among us, not surprising, the great spender in shopping was none other than Gary. He seemed to bargain for everything even the one that moves! Here Gary was caught on camera buying some material and in the process of bargaining for the awek too?...... alamak....

...GOLF SUDAH....MAKAN SUDAH.....IT'S SHOPPING TIME...

Basically we have achieved our main aim of coming to Bandung i.e. to play golf. Next on the list was shopping. Yes, Bandung is well known for its shopping attraction especially the various branded items strewn all over its well spread outlets. Here above the entrance of one of the big outlets found in the Indonesian 4th largest city, Bandung.

MORE FOOD....MAKAN LAGI....

Bandung do have wide range of good restaurants with be it western or local delicacies to pick..so, as for eating is concerned...no worries Pa'....as seen here the Sikit2 Untong members helping themselve with Kelvin full concentration and control at the head of the table.

.....BREAKING NEWS.....

....well....well....well....we got another HOLE-IN-ONE among us Sikit2 Untong...last year was Steve Tan at KGAT 11th hole ....today 29 Apr 2008 none other than our ever smiling Chairman, Gary Chang at KGAT 5th hole considered as the most difficult Par 3. He gracefully did it with a 7 iron, being witnessed in the same flight by Charlie and Andy. Well done Gary.....syabas.....

THE BANDUNG WINNER.....

The Bandung winner, in many ways, as expected...none other than Johnny Lee....he seemed to sapu bersih kurang lebih not only in golf but also.....
Here in pic, Johnny among the other winners receiving his trophy from the Sikit2 Untong President, Kelvin Kong ..Well done Johnny....

ANNOUNCING THE WINNER....

After the two days of golfing, it was time for the Competition Chairman, Mike Mustafa, to announce the winner. Again, as normal, it was not something easy to come with....everybody declared themselves the winner, one way or the other.....and they also came up with all sort of excuses for losing so many balls....even the caddies were blamed.....yeah they distract me making me topped the ball!!....ada ada aje....

THE DOWN HILL TEE-OFF....

At this particular course, you tend to counter lots of tee-off going deep down hill-ravines and gorges in between the tee-box and the green. For those being their first time golfing here, one tends to find it rather stiff challenges to play their shots but after couple of outings, one certainly realised that it is not really that difficult - the tips - just comply to the distant stated at the tee-box and play your normal shots......no worries mate!!

THE 18 HOLES ROUNDS....

One of the flights on the track..yes the course required all buggies to be strictly on the buggy tracks....this one of the ways of keeping the fairways almost flawless and nice to address balls on smooth carpets...

NOW, WAIT A MINUTE...

.....woa...who's playing and where are the caddies....I think due to some reasons or other there are some unknown ...why...how...believe it or not....the four players decided to swap with the caddies....

THE ONLY ELIGIBLE BACHELOR...

No worry, it's only Richard, the one and only eligible bachelor among the group .... but I thought there were more especially during arrival at the airport....many declared with the immigration ...."...kami masih bujang Pa'..."

MORE BRIEFING FOR THE CADDIES

Before the tee-off, more detailed briefing for the caddies..."Lina you tengok itu bola okay...Yanti...you jaga itu score tau..." The caddies took all these with a smile and acknowleged sweetly ....baik Pa' Cik...

FOND MEMORIES OF MOUNTAIN VIEW

The magnificent twelve....still wondering is it the one in white or the one in pink?....before the tee-off....all look pretty fresh aye....

BRIEFING FOR THE CADDIES...

The caddies getting their briefing from the Caddy Master (Mistress?)..." siapa mau jadi caddy kepada Pa'.....?....ngak mau Bu....kenapa?....katanya not to my taste Bu...

SELAMAT DATANG...MOUNTAIN VIEW GOLF CLUB

"...selamat datang Pa'..." greetings on our arrival at the Mountain View Golf Club. The club also located on hill tops with another majestic view of Bandung. The club house as compared to Giri Gahana Golf Resort is much smaller but it sure does made-up with other things, such as its challenging tee-off of which mostly going down hill with deep ravines in between and sharp down-hill and turnings for us to maneuver.....and the other thing are their ever capable caddies....

THE SECOND DAY OUTING

....yes, very military like....EYES RIGHT!!....admiring the early morning Bandung heavy traffic... on the way to Mountain View Golf Club for our second day golf outing .... everybody seemed to be fresh after a good night rest.....or is it?......lets see how well they do on the course......more surprises awaiting...heh heh heh....

MORNING SWIM ANYBODY?...

After yesterday's tight schedule and heavy dinner, Charlie challenged everybody for a six o'clock swim in the hotel pool...well, smart of me I took the cabaran and was at the pool at six....no Charlie... nobody in-sight.... until a staff came up ..."Pa'....ngak swim pagi hari...dingin....kurang lebih swim atas katil dalam kamar lagi bagus..." walking away laughing....so, Charlie must be doing the free-style in bed!!......blimey....

EATING OUTLET-KAMPONG DAUN

After a wonderful outing at the fascinating golf resort of Bandung Giri Gahana, a quick shower and changed we were whisked to our hideout for dinner at the Kampong Daun Restaurant. It took us almost an hour drive (depending on the weekdays traffic) again being driven through beautiful and breath taking sights. The eating place was richly covered with green vegetation, man-made waterfalls and well lit path with lampu pelita-it's a real hideout.

THE PRESIDENT'S FLIGHT

The background could be the great volcano but the four are much more mightier than that gunung berapi....yes, these four were part of the President's Flight....L/R....Johnny, Gary, Kelvin and Douglas.

Well, everybody had a good tee-off and were seen hurrying for their second fairway shots.....but wait a minute.....why is Gary still at the Tee-box?....and smiling too....I wonder what's keeping him.....

ONE FOR THE ALBUM

The mighty Sikit2 Untong historical moment in their yellow tops and red caps identity get together before the assault on the fasinating Bandung Giri Gahana Golf Resort.

BANDUNG GIRI GAHANA GOLF RESORT

On arriving at Bandung Giri Gahana Golf Resort, we were really taken aback at the amazing and scenic course-it was beautifully sighted on a wide area sloping towards the far distance city of Bandung with the majestic rolling hills and volcanoes in the background-what more with the thin blowing breeze-it was just perfect...fantastico....wahdoo....

...wow...wow, looks like both Jerry and Steve whilst waiting for Gary and the gang collecting their luggage, had a crash course from Willie of crossing-legs....want to know the secret of legs crossing?....well, do ask Kelvin!!

Gary among the luggage and golf bags at the hotel lobby...they need to grab their stuff quickly....a quick change.....lunch and off to our first outing at Bandung Giri Gahana Golf Resort
