From all of us staunch members of Sikit2 Untong... THANK YOU Selesa Home for another much to talk about golf outting...and we know .... as boldly uttered by Gen Mac Arthur..."I (we) shall return..."Thursday, February 21, 2008

It is obvious...nothing stands in the way of hungry golfers...it seems to be all men for themselves here...this the only time nobody notice the President ... ayo berapa hari tarak makan kah?.....
This was the makan spirit of Sikit2 Untong at the banyak sedap lunch - Selesa Home Coffee lounge ...yes it was a deserving lunch for all including our guest of honour Dennis ( the menace? )

"....yes, sebelum pukul...mesti makan dulu..." its breakfast at the mamak corner hide-out...roti canai, eggs, kopi kurang manis ( yeah I heard that... somebody ordered air suam kurang manis...the poor mamak put-up a smile but I know he was confused...)
As per our SOP, by 0645 hrs we were all there at Bukit Tinggi village for our sarapan pagi...
YES, ITS BACK TO SELESA
Sunday, February 17, 2008

Last but not least was our good Charlie Cheong, the don't play-play Treasurer...receiving the CNY gift from Mike. Yes, Mike certainly qualify to be the big brother for the day having given all those gifts...but I wonder what were the rest doing...apa lagi... makan kacang dan limau le...Gong Xi Fa Cai...

Third in line was none other then Steve Tan ... our mighty hole-in-one wizard...to receive the special CNY gift from Mike. From Mike's face you can tell he must be thingking " hey, what about me?..."
For that no worry, for there were lots of cookies and oranges to go around for everybody...that was the true spirit...semua ada makan...
THE CHINESE NEW YEAR IS HERE...

The wait for the Chinese New Year is at long last here...Gong Xi Fa Cai...The Year of the Rat...families gathered for their dinner reunion...close friends too being invited for the ever meaningful tossing of the yee sang ... each praying for a better future...in health, wealth, good fortune, etc...the young with open hands for ang pow packets...
For the Sikit2 Untong, those celebrating the New Year were also not forgotten...here Mike handing over CNY gifts to the President, Kelvin Kong...Gong Xi...Gong Xi...

GARY CHANG THE SIKIT2 UNTONG 2007 CHAMPION
ANDREW KEEPING FIT

To Andrew, walking the course for his weekly golfing outing is no big deal, even the known so-called obstacle course KGAT failed to keep him away. Not with the bunch of Sikit2 Untong hanging around to make your day, be it on the course with the individual style of play or at the teh-tarik corner after a refreshing shower.
A good sweat, good jokes (or is it dirty?...whatever) with smiles all round certainly makes the world go round (faster?).
HOLE-IN-ONE MIGHTY STEVE

Yes, Steve did us Sikit2 Untong proud by getting a hole-in-one...at the 11th hole KGAT late last year.
On being asked how he did it "...well, the pond was on the right so, I don't have much choice but to put the ball in the hole..."
Here at the Japanese dinner, Steve being awarded and congratulated by Gary, the ever smiling Chairman ( hey...in Sikit2 Untong everybody seems to be smiling...don't play-play)

The Chairman, Gary pouring-out one of his numerous and humourous Japanese experience "...you know this guy..."(SENSORED so soli, stlikli for members onli)...from the smile on Allen's face no wonder mesti potong - need to be sensored!!
The above scene was more or less the buka selera prior to the lovely Japanese dishes we had.
JAPANESE DINNER AT THE LEGEND
WILLIE'S SECRET KEEPING YOUNG AT HEART

"...calling it a day after having years of serving as a professional infantry soldier...I found it hard to lead a normal healthy life... not until I bumped into these live-wires of Sikit2 Untong...this group certainly make me look-forward from day-to-day, week-to-week if not year-to-year...it certainly pushed the stress, loneliness, dead-ends, etc aside..."

Every Penny Counts-The Treasurer

...as the saying goes..."don't judge the book by ...."...yes, this particular guy might be smiling too...but he will certainly be coming on to you for the very last penny...!!!...yes, he is the one that ensures the account remains blue and not red...our mighty Sikit2 Untong Treasurer-Charlie Cheong
On the other hand...you may wish to challenge him for a round of golf and he'll tell you who will be smiling at the 18th hole...!!!
Scooping The Puzzles - The Secretary

...the others gone home...happy with their score of the day (or is it?)...leaving behind...as always...the lone secretary to put 2 and 2 together (or is it 3 and 3... or whatever...) ...yeah...the Sikit2 Untong Secretary... Andy Kamal...but come what may, the smile will always be there...because you never know what's coming tomorrow...as mentioned by Samy... "itu semua kuasa Tuhan..."

Hari Raya Gathering

Within Sikit2 Untong there is time for everything-its Hari Raya Idilfitri 2007-the whole gang and family gathered at Allen Adnan's residence for a nice ketupat, rendang, dodol and much to talk about the last hole blunder by "......hehehe...tried to retrieve the ball from the pond and fell-in head first...hehehe...at least now he got a cool head...hehehehe..."

"...it's not easy to be at the helm...good or bad, you got to smile all the time...you must play well...less OBs hopefully and... alamak... also sing (kareoke) well..."
"..on the whole I'm proud not only to be part of this group but also take it as an honour being elected as the President of Sikit2 Untong. To all members, I wish them the very Best and May each stride of golfing they took will strife for the betterment for them and their lovely family. God Bless.."

GOLFING OUTINGS
Slow and steady, from its original weekly base (KGAT), the brotherly-hood of eleven spread its wings to other golf courses. To start witlh, Selesa Golf Bukit Tinggi was picked simply due to its scenic view and what more for its healthy and cool surroundings - away from the buzzing and polluted air of the Klang Valley. Apart from that, it's only about half an hour drive from KL.
Furthermore, apart from the sweet humming of birds and the constantly dominance howling of the gibbons and the monkeys high in the trees in the surrounding hills (hopefully not due to the standard of our golfing or the numerous OBs into the forest...!!!), Selesa is simply the place to get away from stress once in awhile. The course especially on week-days, hardly see many golfers and this is certainly good for one to concentrate more in addressing their play if they want to improve that is!
After a round of golf, a quick teh-tarik and change, the Sikit2 Untong could be seeing streaming straight to Janda Baik for their routine lunch at gerai Mak Cik by the cool and clear water flowing river-side.
What else can you ask for more. A good golf outing followed by a healthy lunch.
As for spreading its wings we the ever looking for more challenges, had apparently landed on Cameron Highlands couple of times in particular at the Cameron Highlands Golf Club, not only surrounded by the natural beauty of the rolling hills but also of the cool and fresh mountain air.
Who knows, basing on the standard of play, Sikit2 Untong certainly seems very much eager to spread its wings much further...would you believe to...
